First of all could you tell us a bit about yourself?

Ooh, I always struggle with this! I live with my husband and two boys in England, and I love to read and write. I also love to run, but most of all I’m addicted to social media and laughing!

The Perfect Disaster Series. deal with Velvet Morning Press for the series. The books have been improved and all polished up with a new cover. How do you feel about it?

It’s very exciting, I hope that it helps more people discover Dottie and enjoy her story as much as those who have already read her have done! FINGERS CROSSED!

What can you tell us about the The Perfect Disaster Series?
It follows Dottie as she struggles to juggle motherhood and life. Dottie loves life and her kids, but is very honest, and often says the things we don’t dare admit to thinking!

How long did it take you to write the series? Do you write every day?

The process has been a bit all over due to me self-publishing then handing over to VMP. Mothers Ruined took me three months to write, and then another two to clean up for publication first time around, but that was a few years ago. Since working with VMP we’ve been polishing them up which is a really interesting and fun process. It’s helped me grow as a writer.

How do your own personal experiences influence your writing?
God yes. Everything I live through I think “that would make a story."

Is chick lit with humor your favorite? Why have you settled down to this genre?

I don’t have a favourite. Whilst I LOVE to read chick lit, my current favourite thing to read is crime and thriller. The thing I love so much about social media these days, is that it’s introducing me to authors and books I would never normally turn to, and suddenly I’m obsessed with stories I never thought would even touch my kindle! With regards to what I write, I think I naturally go down the humour route whatever I do, so it seems like the obvious choice for me right now.

Why should a reader pick up the series?
Because it’s funny, honest, and light hearted (I hope)

Do you have a special place where you go to write?

At the moment I write whenever I get the chance, life is busy, so I have a computer set up, but I carry my laptop around with me even if it’s just to the kitchen while I’m cooking the kids tea, or in the car if I’m a bit early for the school run!

What can we expect of you in the future?

More fun and laughter. But perhaps not always light hearted!

Aimee is from Lincoln, England, where she enjoys drinking gin and spending time with her family (and she won’t tell you which of those she prefers doing). As a child, one of her favourite parts of the summer holidays was to devour all the books in a little book shop in Devon. She continued reading at lightning speed right up until having children. She now reads with eyes propped open by match sticks.
