July - The month of Read-a-thons

At the moment many book bloggers on Twitter are talking a lot about two read-a-thons which are held in July. I'm just not happy that they are hosted on nearly the exact dates because I want to take part in woth of them. I think they are both fantastic ideas and projects and are worth a blog post. The read-a-thons are organised by some great bloggers. I'm very happy to be involed in both read-a-thons. I'm looking forward to chat with other bloggers about the books they are reading. This sould not be a competition. Read the books you want to read dosen't matter what genre they are.

Let's start with the #sunathon.

The sunathon is running from 21st July - 27th July.

This is what Emma is saying about the #sunathon

"From the 21st to the 25th July, book bloggers from all around the world will be taking part in #sunathon. What is #sunathon? Created by Emma Louise (@EmmaIsWriting), for that particular week in the gorgeous sun (or rain in you’re in the UK), we’re going to read. It doesn’t matter how much you read, as long as you make time for reading. There are a lot of people around the world who are blind to the magical world books and it’s a shame. More of us should read. I’ve decided to make it a full week: Monday-Sunday because a lot of book bloggers have full time jobs and they squeeze reading in between. I’ve made it longer just for them.

Use #sunathon to follow book bloggers around the world talking about it. It doesn’t matter whether you’re in the UK, or America, or Malaysia or Germany – it’s about us all coming together to read.

Make sure you follow each other, cheer one another on. Who knows maybe next year, we’ll be back?"

I don't put myself under pressure. I choose a pile of books I want to read in that week. Maybe in the end I have just read one or two books of the pile. It doesn't matter, as long as I just read :-)

My current #sunathon reading pile... (3 paperbacks, 3 ebooks)
These are books of my Netgalley shelf and books of my own choice.

Now let's get going with the second read-a-thon. How about sexing up July? The #SexMeUpReadathon is hosted by the wonderful girls of GGBookTours: Megan In The Sunshine & Victoria Loves Books & Kirsty & Laura along with Hot Bed Publishing .

"Do you ever find yourself feeling embarrassed about reading erotic fiction? Do you want to talk about the sex you read in books with other people? Do you want to join a group of people and talk about erotic fiction and sex for a whole week?

Well now you CAN!

For one week in July we are going to dust off our erotic novels stashed away at the back of the bookcases, sit down and enjoy the exciting and pleasurable world of sex in books. Not only that, we want you to talk to each other about them too. Often I want to stand and shout, THIS BOOK HAS MADE ME HOT AND BOTHERED AND I MIGHT NEED TO CHANGE MY UNDERWEAR and I want to have no shame in saying that – why should I? Erotic fiction is designed to arouse you and make you excited and thrill you!"

My possible choices for the #SexMeUpReadathon

These are books of my own TBR pile, from Netgalley, recomendations and some books I have seen reviews about on other blogs which grapped my interest.

Happy reading everyone! I'm trying to mix up my reading choices. Once I finished a book for #sunathon I'll pick up a book for the #SexMeUpReadathon.

Are you joining in Read-a-thon? I'd love to hear your thoughts and the books you choose for the your to be read pile.
