My thoughts

Sophie May suffered a blow of fate in her childhood. Once she was very active girl but this made her very insecure. Through your entire teen time she had to deal with panic attacks and extreme shyness. Only when she animmt a job in a small tea house after school , her life slowly turns back for good. Several years later, she loves her job there is still a lot and owner Molly has become her close friend. But one day, Billy Buskins enters the cafe , famous actor and heartthrob , who is shooting a movie nearby. Between the two it transmits immediately and soon just shy Sophie now has to deal with a life in the spotlight. But girlfriend of a star is not to be easily and although she loves Billy very soon she is faced with the question how much of themselves they actually want to give up for him.

I bought this book because it was so highly recommended and well, because the book was written by Tom from Mcfly's wife. I was a huge McFly fan when I was a young teen. I had high expectation because of the very good and prasing reviews on goodreads. I liked the cover and the blurb sound nice.

The book started off well for me, I really enjoyed the way Sophie and Molly's friendship developed and the way they worked together in the tea shop. I loved Molly. She is the best granny you can wish for. also really liked the way Billy was introduced into the book and her having no clue who he was. From their first date I found myself absolutely hating Billy he was annoying, slushy and over the top - everything girls do not want in a boyfriend. Their relationship was also very fast moving and also incredibly predictable. As was the world Billy lives in.

One of my main gripes with this book are that there is very little descriptive writing. I really had no idea what Sophie actually looked like. Their romance just develops into love without anything more than a kiss. I found Sophie to be annoying; which woman would move to London with the love of her life and sit about baking pavolvas while he went out every night with friends! I could not understand what Billy saw in her. Also, I found it unrealistic that he could live with her and yet never question what had happened to her Dad. Sophies secret is just a big let down.

I really wanted to love this book, but sadly I didn't. I'm very dissapointed. Even through I enjoyedreading some bits and I shed a few tears towards the end but overall it was not my cup of tea.

I'm sorry Gi, I still think your adorable and lovely and I'll pick up your next novel and give your writing skills a second chance.
